CRICKET RESULTS – 26th JULY 2008 – LEAGUE WEEK 13


1st XI v Boughton & Eastwell Home

I lost the toss again!! We were asked to field and although lacking our normal opening bowling duo this week, JJ and Patrick Stileman bowled very well and with Mattison, Sunnucks T and Mortimer restricted the B & E batsmen to 217 on a slowish flat track. We began the chase poorly, losing our top four batsmen for 30, the extra pace of the B & E bowlers making the pitch more difficult than earlier in the day. However Paul Sunnucks smashed a quick 84 and although we were in the chase with overs in hand, a steady loss of wickets meant we were always looking to fall short. B & E won by 40 runs.

Just a short note regarding the selection without Colin Langridge. Colin as announced that he is unavailable for the rest of the season due to family issues. He wishes us the best of luck for the remaining games and I am sure I can echo all the teams response to thank him for huge support in the 1st team in particular, and wish his wife’s speedy recovery.
